Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine was a Philadelphia native was born and raised there. Her mother Pam was a vocalist for the backup band of Philadelphia International Records. In the year she turned 5 young, her father got an appointment as the curator of the city's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the landmark historical building. As a 2005 Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduated She is an instructor in the field of vocal music. Sullivan began singing as a contralto with the kids' choir, before joining after a couple of years, she joined the adult choir. The exposure Sullivan had to secular music was at first limited "I did solos at the church, and I was asked to go on an evangelical label when I was eleven but I wasn't yet ready," she recalls. "Then McDonald's offered a competition for children in major cities. In the end, I got an opportunity to sing What God Wills on Showtime Apollo. My audience was very enthusiastic." The singer performed along with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday party at thirteen. Sullivan At the age of 15 was signed for the first time to Jive Records. It was her first time signing with Jive Records at the age fifteen. The singer-songwriter produced an entire album. The album never saw release. Sullivan was eventually dropped from the label. There was a close relationship with Missy Elliott and produced some of the songs on her debut album, such as the brash single "Backstabbers" - produced by Timbaland and composed by Elliott.
